Events on the horizon
2024
With the winter fading into spring, The Port of Pictou is looking forward to a new season of visits from Cruise Ships, The Navy and Canada's Own Bluenose II. Updates to come.
2023 Was a successful year and we would like to say thank you to all of the visitors!
We would like to thank The Royal Canadian Navy for using The Port of Pictou for their maneuvers this past weekend. The event was enjoyed by the public with a great turn out. Approximately 224 people took advantage of the rides offered by the navy. Fire equipment was displayed and experienced by those who wished to try it on. The Navy Staff was pleasant and informative and interacted with the visitors. We have had all positive comments from the public regarding this event.
In this photo Sailor Second Class Emma Franklin operated one of the boats offering rides that day. She did an amazing job answering questions and teaching children how to operate the craft.
Thank you to Lieutenant (N) Joseph F. Kinley, P.Eng., CD and Lt(N) / ltv Josh Dickinson for organizing this event and we certainly look forward to seeing you next year.
HMCS Oriole was also on site to offer tours to the public.
